The Noggin Quote of the Day (or Week or Month)

"I'm going to bike [the] Tour de France. With Mommy and Papa" - The Noggin

About me

I'm a 35 year old mother of one adorable 3 years old toddler and the wife to a distinguished university professor. We moved from the beautiful shores of the Charles River, which separates Boston from Cambridge to the shores of the Hudson, which separates New York City and New Jersey in 2010.

The move was a big change for me, leaving friends and a place I called home for over fifteen years, but it also gave me a bit of kick in the butt by forcing me to get out there and meet some new people.  In trying to do so, I found the Elysianettes, a fantastic group of women who have motivated me to get back into running and fitness in general.

Prior to baby, I was an avid climber, runner, and nascent triathlete.  Post baby (by a few years), I am trying to get back some of that avidness and to pick up where I left off in the budding triathlete department.  To that end, I've decided to go after a goal I had before getting  pregnant, which was to do a half-iron distance triathlon.  Pumpkinman 2012 is the finish line for that goal.

These days training is more difficult to do and fit in, I am older and slower and more tired...BUT, I think it's the process of getting there and of completing this race that I'm really looking for and that is what this blog is about.  So, Pumpkinman... here I come.
